One after the other, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander on to another NBA feat.
The Oklahoma City Thunder superstar is having an incredible journey this season, and it just keeps getting better. Fresh off the 2025 NBA MVP award, he also snagged the 2025 Western Conference Finals MVP award.
What’s really exciting is that Shai is now in some pretty exclusive company. By winning the MVP and making it to the NBA Finals in the same season, he joins the ranks of Stephen Curry.
The Golden State Warriors superstar last did this back in 2015-16.

During the clinching match against the Timberwolves, he lit up the scoreboard with 34 points, leading the Thunder to a 124-94 victory.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Could Level LeBron James In A Unique Feat

The Oklahoma City Thunder are heading back to the NBA Finals for the first time in over a decade since 2012. After finishing the regular season with the best record in the league, they’ve cruised through the playoffs.
They are undoubtedly the favorites to take home the championship, although much of this success could be attributed to Gilgeous-Alexander.

If the Thunder clinch the title this year, it would be a dream coming true for Gilgeous-Alexander. Additionally, if he also takes home the Finals MVP trophy, he would join LeBron James as the only player to win both honors since 2012-13.
Shai has had a breakout season and was crowned the NBA MVP. His hard work has really paid off, and he’s become one of the most exciting players to watch.
