
Mike Brown is set to make a grand return to the NBA as the head coach of the New York Knicks after months of anticipation.
His new role comes following a successful tenure as the Sacramento Kings’ coach, where he earned the 2023 NBA Coach of the Year award. Brown will be replacing Tom Thibodeau, who was dismissed shortly after leading the Knicks to their first ECF in 25 years and a commendable 51-win season.

“Mike Brown is a four-time champion as an assistant coach. He’s coached a vast array of superstar talent across three decades as an NBA assistant and head coach. LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, Tim Duncan… in 2022-23, he had the top-rated offense in the NBA. The Knicks are obviously hoping for the same type of adaptability and offensive creativity. Brown has also coached the Los Angeles Lakers and has had two stints with the Cavaliers. He additionally worked for invaluable assistant experience under coaching giants such as Gregg Popovich and Steve Kerr. Brown learned the Warriors’ offensive strategies that led to multiple championships.
