The Los Angeles Lakers sold for a whopping $10 billion just last month, and the aftereffects of the massive deal have started to surface. One of the biggest names to ever play for the franchise, Shaquille O’Neal, is rather upset than joyful after Jeanie Buss decided to sell it.
During a recent episode of ‘The Big Podcast with Shaq,’ O’Neal playfully vented his frustration. According to him, the Lakers’ previous majority owners owed him some benefits, at least an Escalade.
“You know, I’m a little upset. The Lakers got sold for 10 billion and I ain’t getting no Dually. I ain’t got no brand-new Escalade. I ain’t get nothing, dawg,” O’Neal said.
Additionally, he counted his significance for the franchise along with other former LA superstars, Kobe Bryant and Magic Johnson.
“It was Magic [Johnson], me, then Kobe [Bryant],” O’Neal stated. “Can I get something? I mean, can I get a check for like 50 million?”
When a team, a company, or an establishment is sold, all the stakeholders get something out of it, depending on their stake. However, Shaq did not fit the criteria. He never invested a dollar into the team or held a fraction of its stake.

Shaquille O’Neal Gets His Name On Hollywood Walk of Fame

While he might not get some $50 million from Jeanie Buss, Shaquille O’Neal still makes a lot of money after hanging up his sneakers years ago.
The NBA legend will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame as part of the Class of 2026. Like many of his career accolades, he will be the only sports star with his name in the prestigious place.
Needless to say, his basketball career was wonderful. Shaq got most recognition for his incredible stints at the Lakers and the Orlando Magic. Later, he became one of the most heard voices in sports commentary, along with the analyst he is.
With yet another accolade to his name, this year, he’s going crazy for Unc Shaq.
