The NBA is nearing its business end. And much like the MVP award, the speculations regarding who the Defensive Player of The Year will be has gripped the fans’ interest. And quite surprisingly, Golden State Warriors’ star Draymond Green has come up as the favorite to win the title. Ever since his induction to the NBA, Green has impressed with his defensive prowess.
And this year too, Green has been phenomenal. Owing to his incredible defense, the Warriors’ star has notched up a rating of 108.5 from 57 games. He has also averaged 1.4 steals and 1.1 blocks per game to make a compelling case for himself.
In a recent stat released by ‘Bovada’, Green is leading the charts with an odds of -150 to win the DPOY 2024-25. And this was not all, his recent performances also helped him soar over the previous favorite, Evan Mobley.

Speaking on the matter, Green told the press, “If we keep winning and close this year out strong, most definitely. When I look around the league, I don’t see many players impacting the game on the defensive end the way I do. I don’t see many players completely throwing off an entire team’s offense the way I do. So, 1,000%, especially with Wemby going down.”
