The Denver Nuggets clearly failed to get much-needed help from Russell Westbrook in the absence of their top shooters, Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray.
The Nuggets were heavily dependent on their supporting roster during the loss against the Los Angeles Lakers, and it did not stand at business. Westbrook’s performance particularly fell short against his former team as he added only 12 points and nine assists.
In his 29 minutes of play, his shooting efficiency dipped to a mere 4-14 from the field and 1-4 from three-point range. However, social media did not let that performance slip off their radar.

A video went viral where Westbrook was airballing a free throw during the third quarter. Though the momentum was quite right, the former Laker failed to make a mark. Soon after the video surfaced on the internet, fans started blasting him for missing out on open free throws.

Despite his struggles in this game, Westbrook previously had a strong performance against the Lakers just a week earlier. He contributed 17 points, 6 rebounds, and 7 assists, which helped lead the Nuggets to victory. But the fans seemed to leave that behind and criticized him with open hearts.
