LeBron James has opted in for his player option this season. That pretty much confirms his future with the Los Angeles Lakers. At least for this season. But the NBA trade market is quite unpredictable. And recently, one wild theory is gaining traction. As per speculations, the Dallas Mavericks are pretty much interested in acquiring James for next season. However , in order for that to happen, there is a slight catch.
As per Dave McMenamin of ‘ESPN,’ James might be traded to the Mavericks under one condition only. And that is, if the Lakers agree for a buyout. Simply put, the Mavs would be interested if James becomes a free agent. But at the moment, the possibility of the same happening looks quite bleak.
“Dallas—I’m told—they would only be interested in LeBron in a buyout situation,” McMenamin reported Thursday on ESPN Radio 710 in Los Angeles.

Now then, as bizarre as it might feel, there’s still an outside chance of the same happening. As per Rich Paul, James is still hungry about winning championships. Paul also pointed out that at such a critical stage of his career, James needs to evaluate what’s best for him.
