Josh Hart couldn’t have bled in a better way. Elbow to the face, wipes up blood, and dang, two free throws in a row.
During Game 5 against the Boston Celtics, Knicks guard Josh Hart really showed us what his high-energy, physical style of play is all about. Early in the first quarter, he took a hard elbow to the face from Celtics big man Luke Kornet.
The unintentional hit resulted in a nasty cut around the bridge of his nose. As he sat up, there was quite a bit of blood, and it looked like he was in rough shape.

The refs paused the game briefly while officials reviewed the play to see if Kornet deserved a flagrant foul. In the end, they ruled it a common foul, which meant Hart could stay in the game to shoot his free throws.
Even with blood dripping down his face, he managed to switch to a fresh uniform and coolly sank both shots at the line.
Hart’s toughness paid off as he finished the game with an impressive 24 points, hitting 7 of his 15 attempts, plus grabbing seven rebounds in 36 minutes of action. Unfortunately, the Knicks fell to the Celtics, with a final score of 127-102.

With all the blood and sweat on his jersey, Hart finished the game with a team high point. This would be a great storyline going into Game 6.
