LaMelo Ball is quite the character, and his out-of-this-world tattoos never fail to make a statement.
Recently, the NBA star shared a shirtless photo on X(formerly Twitter) showing off a large portion of his upper body covered in ink. While many fans appreciate self-expression through body art, this particular display didn’t sit well with everyone.
Some felt it was a bit too much for an NBA player.
The reactions were mixed as some fans outright criticized his tattoos. Interestingly, some fans even went so far as to question his commitment to basketball.
While most of his upper body is covered with black and red ink, it was the empty space in his tummy area that got fans tripping.

NBA fans on the internet went on to remind him to stick to basketball rather than going deep into the “culture.”
NBA Fans Tripping Over LaMelo Ball’s Full-Body Tattoo

LaMelo also had a bit of a run-in with the NBA regarding his tattoos. During the 2023-24 season, the league asked him to cover up his neck tattoo. It featured the ‘LF’ symbol representing both his middle name, ‘LaFrance’, and a fashion brand he launched.
The NBA ruled it a violation of their policy against visible commercial logos during games.
However, the social media critics took things to their hands and went on to point out the details in LaMelo Ball’s full-body tattoo.
