Among the many controversial things he has done or said would be him calling out Daryl Morey for not being “educated” before he sent the tweet in support of antigovernment protesters in Hong Kong that damaged relations between China and the NBA.
“I don’t want to get into a [verbal] feud with Daryl Morey, but I believe he wasn’t educated on the situation at hand, and he spoke,” James said. “And so many people could have been harmed not only financially, physically, emotionally, spiritually. So just be careful what we tweet and say and we do, even though, yes, we do have freedom of speech, but there can be a lot of negative that comes with that, too.”
He has been catching hell for those comments ever since.
The most recent thing was James mocking Kyle Rittenhouse, the Kenosha shooter, as he cried on the stands during his trial where he was ultimately found not guilty. The Los Angeles Laker fired off a snarky tweet last month. “What tears????? I didn’t see one. Man knock it off! That boy ate some lemon heads before walking into court,” James wrote in the message followed by three laughing-crying emojis and a clip of Rittenhouse’s breakdown.
