Fans experienced several intense games during the 2024-25 NBA playoffs. As the postseason rapidly approaches its conclusion, excitement about who will be crowned the 2025 NBA champion is growing. In the meantime, Tiago Splitter has sparked debate with his brutally honest comments on the toughness of the EuroLeague compared to the NBA.
Recently, Splitter chimed in, playfully pointing out that the physicality in the EuroLeague simply doesn’t hold a candle to the intense action happening in the NBA.
“The strategic part, the toughness, how hard it is, like the physicality of the game. People have no clue how much more physical European basketball is. Consider the NBA, you touch a guy, it’s a foul. Here, to get a foul, man, you got to beg the referee to call you a foul, you know,” Splitter said (via EuroHoops).
Players, analysts, and fans frequently compare the NBA to various basketball leagues worldwide, and the chatter is always lively. In September 2024, Patrick Beverly caused quite a buzz by drawing comparisons between the NBA and the Greek league.
