The New York Knicks pulled off a stunning comeback in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. They overcame a 20-point deficit to defeat the Indiana Pacers 106-100 on Sunday. This victory was vital for head coach Tom Thibodeau and his squad, who entered the matchup trailing 0-2 in the series.
Following the thrilling victory, Thibodeau addressed the media during the postgame press conference with a clear message. The Knicks’ head coach stated the unpredictable nature of playoff basketball, pointing out how quickly momentum can swing.
“I know you guys roll your eyes when we say no lead is safe. But no lead is safe. If you let up just a little bit, that’s what happens,” Thibodeau said.

“So you see comebacks all the time, and if you let up just a little bit, that’s what happens. And so you’ve got to win games different ways. Obviously you prefer to play from a lead, but if whatever it is that you have to do, that’s what you have to do to get the win in the end,” he ended.
The win was historical for the Knicks. With Sunday’s win, this year’s Knicks became the only team in NBA history to win three games in a single postseason after trailing by 20 or more points.

Before Game 3, the Knicks made a rotation change by deciding to bench Josh Hart for Mitchell Robinson. Despite the change, Hart remained a key contributor, and following the win, Thibodeau was quick to commend his effort.
“Deuce gave us good minutes when Jalen was in foul trouble,” he said.
Hart finished the game with eight points, ten rebounds, and four assists, while shooting 1-for-3 from the field in 34 minutes of action. His hustle and versatility once again proved valuable, even in a different role. Game 4 of the series is scheduled for Tuesday.
