Former Los Angeles Lakers star Trevor Ariza could be presented with a restraining order bearing his name following his estranged wife Bree Anderson Ariza making an application to the courts, according to RadarOnline.com.
The publication reports having obtained documents showing Bree’s filing for a protective order against the basketball player.
Ariza, who was a champion with the Lakers in 2009, is a free agent at the moment. He last played for L.A in a second stint that saw him return in 2021 after playing for multiple teams, including the Houston Rockets, Washington Wizards, Phoenix Suns, and Miami Heat.
The documents in question claim Bree, who has two children with Ariza, fears for her safety and wants the small forward to be ordered to stay away from her home, as well as barred from any contact with her.
Bree filed for divorce from Trevor last year after four years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences.
She is also seeking sole custody, having insisted that Trevor engaged in “engaged in acts of extreme physical abuse towards me.”
“He was verbally and emotionally abusive to me. Some of the abuse occurred in the presence of our children,” she added.
Bree notes that Trevor lives half a mile away from her, a fact she’s uncomfortable with, stating he has entered her home absent her knowledge and thinks he can come and go as he pleases.
Ariza is accused of threatening to change the locks to the residence and leaving Bree homeless if she didn’t listen to him. She also claims he is refusing to pay child support and has threatened to take the kids away from her.
Bree recalled an alleged incident from 2021 in which she said a “very angry” Trevor came to her house and demanded that she gave him her phone, which she refused.
She says he threw her into a bed, punched her several times, and choked her until she nearly passed out.
Bree detailed another incident from February 2020 in which she says the player choked her until she lost consciousness.
She is said to have revealed a text Trevor sent her in September 2020 which reads: “Me putting my hands on you has cause me to feel like I’m nothing.”WANT MORE FROM TOTALPROSPORTS? FOLLOW US ON GOOGLE NEWS.
