The Indiana Pacers will go head-to-head with the Oklahoma City Thunder in the eagerly awaited NBA finals series. However, before Game 1, the Pacers’ plane had to make an emergency landing due to a tornado warning. To make matters even more interesting, Tyrese Haliburton and Bennedict Mathurin’s quirky antics during the situation truly heightened the drama of the moment.
According to Chris Mannix, the Indiana Pacers’ team plane has successfully landed in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Prior to touching down, the aircraft circled the Oklahoma City area, likely to ensure safe navigation before landing.
The decision to land in Tulsa was made to allow the plane to refuel. Meanwhile, a tornado warning is currently in effect for Oklahoma City, highlighting the severity of the weather conditions in the region. During a recent press conference, Haliburton reflected on his experience during the emergency plane landing.
“We took off and I slept the whole plane ride, which I don’t normally do,” Haliburton said. “We landed and I was ready to get up and they said we were in Tulsa. … It was a long travel day, but what can you do? None of us can control the weather. There’s worse problems in life. We’ll be fine,” Haliburton said.
