The 2024-25 NBA season gave Tyrese Haliburton plenty to celebrate, and one massive blow in the Finals Game 7.
The Indiana Pacers star tore his Achilles during the first quarter of the game while he leaned a little too much while making a play. It resulted in a very painful defeat as the young Pacers missed their first ever NBA ring.
However, it has also been a tough season for fans with the alarming rise in Achilles injuries that have rocked the league. Along with Haliburton, Jayson Tatum, and Dejounte Murray have unfortunately found themselves sidelined.
With Tyrese Haliburton confirmed to have torn his Achilles in G7 last night, there have now been 8 Achilles tears in the NBA this year. That is the MOST in a single season in NBA history, the previous high was 5 😬

Tyrese Haliburton’s injury came as a tough blow for the Pacers, especially after the incredible journey the team has taken this season.
After starting off a bit rocky at 10-15, Haliburton turned things around and led the Pacers all the way to the NBA Finals.
However, as per reports, this surgery could keep him sidelined for most, if not all, of next season, and that’s understandably disheartening.
Despite the blow, the Pacers star is keeping his faith in the higher up as he shared a lengthy social media post on X(formerly Twitter).
Man. Don’t know how to explain it other than shock. Words cannot express the pain of this letdown. The frustration is unfathomable. I’ve worked my whole life to get to this moment and this is how it ends? Makes no sense.

Coach Rick Carlisle also shared his optimism, confident that Haliburton will recover and return to form. While losing their star player is a heavy loss, the team has some promising silver linings. They have a solid supporting cast ready to step up.
Guards like Andrew Nembhard and T.J. McConnell have proven they can run the show. And young talents like Bennedict Mathurin and Ben Sheppard will likely get more chances to shine.
