The Detroit Pistons pulled off one of the biggest surprises of the 2025 NBA Playoffs so far. The young squad silenced Madison Square Garden with a 100-94 victory over the New York Knicks in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals on Monday night. And leading the charge was none other than Dennis Schroder.
Schroder’s resilience was on full display during a play. During a play, cameras captured the moment OG Anunoby sent him flying to the floor with a hard shove. While the hit briefly knocked him down, Schroder quickly got back on his feet.

The German guard delivered one of the game’s most crucial shots with 55.1 seconds left on the clock. With the score tied and tension thick in the air, the veteran guard calmly drained a clutch three-pointer that gave the Pistons a three-point lead. That shot would be the dagger that sealed the Knicks’ fate.
Schroder ended the night with 20 points, second only to the Pistons’ leading scorer. In just over 29 minutes of play, he shot 6-for-10 from the field, including 3-for-5 from beyond the arc. He also chipped in three assists and two blocks.
