The Indiana Pacers handled a frustrating defeat to the New York Knicks, and things had to go off. Despite putting their all into the game, OG Anunoby got a little too frustrated over Karl-Anthony Towns.
During Game 1 of the playoffs, cameras caught a tense exchange between Anunoby and Towns on the Knicks’ bench. With only 34 seconds left in the game and the Knicks clinging to a 14-point lead, the frustration between the two players bubbled over.
While we don’t know exactly what triggered the heated discussion, it was clear that something was amiss.

As the tension escalated, it became painfully obvious that team chemistry was teetering on the edge. Jalen Brunson, the team’s point guard, stepped in to try to smooth things over. But instead of banding together in those crucial moments, division took hold.
Now, with Game 1 behind them and many questions in the air, the Knicks face a tough road ahead.

OG Anunoby Opens Up About Knicks Blunder

The Knicks had a tough start to the 2025 Eastern Conference Finals as they suffered a heartbreaking overtime 138-135 loss to the Pacers.
They were in a comfortable position, leading by as much as 17 points and still holding a 14-point advantage with just under three minutes left.
But then, the game took a wild turn, which can only be described as an epic meltdown.
Tyrese Haliburton became an unforgettable hero for the Pacers. He nailed a buzzer-beater that forced the game into overtime and sent Pacers fans into a frenzy.
A big part of the Knicks’ downfall came in those crucial final minutes. OG Anunoby and Karl-Anthony Towns both missed critical free throws. Although Anunoby’s miss with just 7.1 seconds left felt especially crushing.
It gave Haliburton a chance to tie the game, and well, we all know how that turned out. After the game, Anunoby made an honest admission to the team’s fumble.
“They made shots, we didn’t. We made some mistakes, missed some free throws,” Anunoby said.
With Game 2 coming up, Anunoby remains upbeat and determined to help the Knicks recover.
