Months have passed since the blockbuster trade that sent Luka Doncic to the Lakers and brought Anthony Davis to the Mavericks. Both stars have since adjusted well to their new surroundings. Still, the man behind the move, Mavericks General Manager Nico Harrison, remains a central figure in the ongoing discussion around the trade.
While fans of the Mavericks have already voiced their frustrations with Harrison, Friday night brought a new wave of criticism, this time from a surprising source. During the Mavericks’ visit to the Los Angeles Clippers at the newly built Intuit Dome, Clippers fans decided to get creative in showing their disapproval of Harrison’s decision-making.
The fans targeted Harrison during Dallas’ trips to the free-throw line as several people held up signs that drew laughs and attention. One sign displayed a photo of beloved forward Nicolas Batum, while another showed Harrison’s face. Another fan was between the two, with a greater symbol of two suggesting that Batum was more valuable in their eyes.

The trolling didn’t stop there. The home crowd maintained high energy throughout the game. Unfortunately for Harrison and the Mavericks, the night ended on a low note as the Clippers secured a commanding 114-91 victory. The loss only added salt to the wound for Nico Harrison, especially considering the absence of Davis from the lineup and the early exit of Klay Thompson due to illness.
Despite the short-handed roster, the Mavericks struggled to find their rhythm. Forward Naji Marshall was a rare bright spot for Dallas, contributing 22 points.

Despite ongoing criticism for Doncic’s trade, former NBA star Carlos Boozer is standing behind Nico Harrison and the direction he’s taking the team. Speaking on ESPN’s Get Up, Boozer shared his thoughts on the Mavericks’ current roster and expressed optimism about their potential.
“I actually like this team when they’re completely healthy. Kyrie Irving was having an outstanding season. I think Daniel Gafford has made a huge step from when he was with the Wizards and coming to Dallas. Dereck Lively’s made another step as well,” Boozer said.
The Mavericks have certainly experienced a rollercoaster season, now sitting in the ninth seed in the Western Conference with a 38-39 record. Injuries have played a significant role in their struggles, but there are glimpses of what the team can be when at full strength.
