Since his midseason trade to the Golden State Warriors, Jimmy Butler has blended in with his new team more seamlessly than anyone expected. Both on and off the court, Butler’s chemistry with his teammates has been a source of entertainment for fans.
One such moment recently caught the attention of reporters when Butler decided to poke fun at Buddy Hield’s pronunciation skills. The exchange began with Butler challenging Hield to spell the word “connector” after Hield seemingly called him one.
“Buddy, Buddy called—you don’t listen to nothing Buddy ever says, okay? He can’t even spell ‘connector.’ That’s how I think about it. I’ll take that all day. I don’t care what fun the game that is—Buddy, spell ‘connector,’” Butler said.

Hield, rather than backing down, responded by simply pronouncing the word. Butler then responded with playful antics further.
“Oh hell, damn! Exactly my point. Y’all see that? Why are you saying that? You called me a connector? Okay, so spell it! All right,” Butler laughed.

Following the Warriors’ recent victory over the Detroit Pistons, Stephen Curry spoke at length about how Butler has changed the team’s dynamic. The superstar guard highlighted Butler’s influence, not just in terms of wins but also in the way the team now operates.
“It’s pretty clear as day the difference in not just our record but how we’re playing. How we’re winning and his impact on the game. Early, it was him getting back in shape, trying to figure out how to be aggressive and play in our system. Now we need to cater to his actions and his comfort zones,” Curry said.
With the determination to lead the Warriors to a new height, Butler already secured his first and even the team’s first triple-double this season on Monday. Since his arrival, the team has gone 12-1, skyrocketing from the 11th seed to fifth place in the Western Conference.
