The Minnesota Timberwolves are clearly moving in the right direction. After taking down the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round, the Wolves are now closing in on a series win in the Western Conference semifinals against the Golden State Warriors.
On Monday, the Timberwolves faced the Warriors in a crucial Game 4. Before the game began, Joe Ingles lightened the mood when he jumped in on Rudy Gobert’s media session. Ingles walked up to the public address microphone and used the opportunity to playfully interrupt Gobert’s press conference.
“Ruuuuudy,” Ingles said into the stadium speakers. It caught Gobert off guard and prompted a wide smile. After a brief pause, Ingles repeated the call in an even more humorous tone.

Although fans have been entertained by their off-court antics, many miss seeing Ingles contribute on the floor. He has yet to appear in a single playoff game this year.
Still, the Timberwolves pressed on without him, earning a 117-110 win on Monday. Gobert played a supporting role in the victory, finishing with eight points, six rebounds, and one assist.

In a recent episode of Mind the Game with Steve Nash, NBA superstar LeBron James opened up about the Los Angeles Lakers’ strategic approach in Game 5 against the Minnesota Timberwolves, specifically how they tried to contain Anthony Edwards and Rudy Gobert.
“Everything that Rudy did in Game 5 came because Ant approached the game the way he did those first four games. Now all eyes were on Ant, and everything was game planned around Ant, and Rudy was the beneficiary of that moment, “ James said.
Despite the calculated effort, the strategy backfired. Gobert and Edwards combined their strengths to power the Timberwolves to the Game 5 win, sealing the series 4-1 and eliminating the Lakers from the postseason. Now, Gobert’s team is just one win away from advancing to the conference finals.
