The Los Angeles Lakers had full control of Game 4 on Sunday and looked poised to secure a win. However, a rough second half saw them lose their momentum. Despite the heartiest efforts from Luka Doncic and the team, the Lakers eventually fell to a 113-116 defeat.
Throughout the night, several fouls appeared to go uncalled. Head coach JJ Redick even pointed out one specific foul on Doncic that, if called, might have shifted the outcome in the Lakers’ favor.
During the game, Doncic was also seen pleading with the referees for calls. At one point on the sideline, a Timberwolves fan heckled Doncic, shouting, “You’re a grown man; you complain every play.“
Doncic was unable to hold his composure. The Lakers star lashed out at the fan with an NSFW rant.

Despite the tension, Doncic finished the game strong with 38 points, one rebound, two assists, and one steal. He shot 13-of-28 from the field and 5-of-12 from three-point range.

NBA Confirms Jaden McDaniels Foul On Luka Doncic Went Uncalled
Following JJ Redick’s earlier criticism about a missed foul call on Luka Doncic, the NBA later confirmed that a crucial foul did indeed go unnoticed during the game. With only 33 seconds remaining in Game 4, and the Lakers trailing Minnesota by just one point, Jaden McDaniels tripped Luka Doncic.
“McDaniels (MIN) steps forward into Doncic’s (LAL) path, initiating illegal foot contact that causes him to lose his balance,” the official report read.
The move of McDaniels should have been ruled a foul, which led to free throws for Los Angeles. Now, following the heartbreaking loss, the Lakers are on the brink of elimination, trailing the first-round series 3-1. Game 5 is scheduled for Wednesday.
