Karl-Anthony Towns has become a game-changer for the New York Knicks, helping them get within two wins of the Eastern Conference Finals. His arrival, thanks to a big trade, has really boosted the team’s offense, especially as he pairs up with Jalen Brunson.
Their two victories in Boston during the playoffs show just how effective he can be.
However, things took a concerning turn during Game 3 against the Celtics when Towns appeared to injure his left hand. The injury seems to have happened during an awkward moment with Luke Kornet while grabbing a rebound.
Cameras caught Towns looking shaken, and he seemed to indicate he might have broken his hand by saying, “I broke it.”

After the Knicks fell to the Celtics 115-93, Towns opened up a bit about his injury, but he kept details pretty vague.
“It is what it is. I just want to do whatever I can to be out there,” Towns said.

“It is what it is. I’m gonna keep finding ways to play, so I ain’t trippin’,” Towns added when a reporter asked him if he said he broke his finger.
Although it’s still unclear if he had gone through an X-ray or not.
HC Tom Thibodeau Clears The Air On Karl-Anthony Towns’ Injury

While Karl-Anthony Towns’ response left fans a bit confused, Head Coach Tom Thibodeau addressed concerns surrounding the injury.
After a performance where Towns struggled significantly, finishing with only 21 points on 5-of-18 shooting, there was speculation about how much his ongoing thumb issues affected his play.
“It’s the playoffs. People are gonna get hit. You’ve got to play through things, and that’s why you do it the entire season. No one is playing 100 percent, but you have to understand that you can play well when you’re feeling less than your best. That’s all part of it. I think the mental toughness part in the playoffs is huge,” Thibodeau said.

Towns has been battling a sprained right thumb, which also features a bone chip sustained earlier in the season. Thibodeau’s comments suggest that the team expects him to continue playing through this latest setback.
