Shai Gilgeous-Alexander once again delivered a brilliant performance in Game 4 of the NBA Finals against the Indiana Pacers. His efforts helped lift the Oklahoma City Thunder to a crucial victory, evening the series at 2-2 and giving the team renewed momentum in their quest for a championship.
However, the game was not without controversy. Many fans pointed fingers at head referee Scott Foster and accused him of favoring the Thunder with questionable officiating. A notable moment came when Shai Gilgeous-Alexander appeared to push Pacers forward Isaiah Jackson during a play. A slow-motion replay revealed the contact occurred directly in front of Foster, but no foul was called.

This wasn’t the only missed call drawing criticism. In the first quarter, Thunder guard Lu Dort was seen elbowing Tyrese Haliburton. Despite the clear contact, the referees once again let the play continue without a whistle.
Gilbert Arenas reacted to the controversy humorously. After discovering that Scott Foster was leading the officiating crew for Game 4, Arenas changed his allegiance mid-game by swapping his Pacers jersey for a Thunder one.

“He’s a winner. To put it all into one word. He does whatever it takes any given night… I’ve said it before, but he has a championship ring for a reason,” Shai said.
Caruso finished the game with 20 points on 7-of-9 shooting. Meanwhile, Shai poured in 35 points, three rebounds, and three steals, 15 of those points coming in the fourth quarter alone. Remarkably, Shai’s 15 points in the final five minutes of Game 4 are the most by any player in a Finals game during that span since 1971.
