The Los Angeles Lakers will surely be in a state of panic. Just days before, they were enjoying an unbeaten run of 7 games. Cut to March 15, 2025, the Lakers might not get an automatic playoff spot! They actually might have to settle for a play-in berth! After picking up losses against the Celtics, Nets, and the Bucks, the Lakers once again succumbed to a defeat against the Denver Nuggets. With a 126-131 scoreline, the purple and gold brigade looks further down the barrel. Meanwhile, as the game was exciting, a Nuggets fan decided to spice things up further from the stands.
The game at the Ball arena was a tense affair. And the tension seems to have spilled over to the crowd. In a recent video shared by ‘jerharlanCNN’ on X, a Nuggets fan can be seen picking up a fight with multiple Lakers supporters. While leaving the stadium, the two factions clashed in an ill-tempered fight. The fan in question was trading wild blows to the Lakers fans.

Soon, as the situation threatened to get out of control, the security officials intervened. As they broke up the fight, the fans were promptly escorted out of the arena. Coming back to their game against the Nuggets, this loss has made the Lakers slip down to fifth from a comfortable second position just back. Surprisingly, former GM of the Warriors, Bob Myers, had already predicted an identical future for the Lakers.
Bob Myers Gets Real On Los Angeles Lakers’ NBA Future

The most significant setback for the Lakers was LeBron James’s groin injury. The Lakers face an uphill task, with James expected to be out for at least two weeks. Looking at the playoff scenario, former Warriors GM Bob Myers stated that the Los Angeles Lakers might very well slip to the fifth position.
“If [LeBron’s groin injury] goes past two weeks, [the Lakers] could easily fall to 4th [in the West]. The cushion isn’t huge. They’ve got 22 losses, Denver’s got 23, Memphis has 24, Houston has 25. That’s a three-game difference between them and Houston. So, I could see them slipping to four or five.” Myers said in the recent episode of ESPN’s NBA Countdown.

The Lakers are in fifth place as of now. With Luka Doncic injured, too, it remains to be seen how things pan out for them in the future.
