
When it comes to off-court antics, the Oklahoma City Thunder are one of the more playful teams in the league. Their pranks during interviews often grabbed headlines this season. For first-year player Dillon Jones, his introduction to NBA life has been filled with lessons, and some of them have come in the form of creative punishments from his veteran teammates.
One such moment came to light recently when Thunder big man Isaiah Hartenstein took to Instagram to reveal a hilarious rookie hazing incident. The Thunder squad decided to “punish” Jones in a very unique way for keeping the team speaker charged. When Jones failed to do so, his teammates filled his entire car with packing peanuts.

Jones was visibly stunned when he discovered his car stuffed with the white foam. The rookie was caught on video by his laughing teammates and he had no choice but to dig through the sea of peanuts by hand.
The Weber State alum was selected 26th overall in the 2024 NBA Draft, becoming the 17th player from the school to reach the league. He was originally picked by the Washington Wizards, but was quickly traded to the Thunder.

The Thunder wrapped up their regular season securing a 115-100 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday. The win solidified their dominance in the Western Conference, earning them the top seed heading into the playoffs with a 68-14 overall record.

Dillon Jones took full advantage of his minutes in the season finale, delivering one of his best performances yet. He logged 36 minutes on the court, scoring 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting. He knocked down his only three-point attempt and went 2-for-2 from the free-throw line. In addition to his scoring, Jones contributed 10 rebounds, one assist, and one steal.
Despite the strong finish, Jones’ overall rookie campaign was relatively quiet and unremarkable. Over the course of the season, he averaged just 2.5 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game.
