The Los Angeles Lakers seem to have found their mojo once again after a period of lean play. Facing off against the Houston Rockets recently, the Lakers won the game 104-98. However, while this was quite a favorable result for the purple and gold camp, a separate incident made the headlines on social media. Apparently, NBA Hall of Famer Reggie Miller was happy with the referee calling a technical foul on one of the Houston Rockets’ players.
With under six minutes left for the final whistle, the score read 93-89, with the Lakers in the lead. Right at this point, Rockets’ Tari Eason made a stellar play. He managed to pull off an impressive crossover to execute a thumping dunk. While this reduced the Lakers’ lead to just two, Eason was pretty charged up. As he uttered something, referee Tre Maddox spotted it and called for a technical foul.
And this act from the referee did not sit well with Reggie Miller at all. Watching the replay, an infuriated Miller lashed out at the referee and said, “Oh, come on! Come on, man! Are you kidding me? Come on, Tre Maddox. You’re better than that. This is the NBA. I can see it in college, high school. Stop it.”

Well, Miller might have got a point here. After all, Eason did not direct his expression of passion toward any of the Lakers’ players. Rather, it was his own team where he directed his emotions. Meanwhile, with multiple complaints coming in, Cade Cunningham dropped a hilarious take on NBA refereeing.

“If you challenge a call, the ref that made the call, can’t be there to review it,” said Cunningham.
