The San Antonio Spurs secured a thrilling 121-116 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday night, but the night belonged to point guard Chris Paul. The veteran point guard etched his name deeper into NBA history by moving to second on the league’s all-time assists list.
After the game, Paul shared an emotional moment with his teammates in the locker room. Fighting back tears, he expressed gratitude for their support and their shared journey.
“I can’t say nothing but thank you. I know I’m hard to deal with a lot of the time. I swear man, I’m so grateful. To be away from my family—y’all became my family. I know I’m a lot to deal with on the court, but I just love to hoop. I hope y’all get this opportunity to play as long as I have. Thank y’all so much,” Paul said.
