Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr is not the biggest fan of Donald Trump and has little love for the United States President, whom he used an interesting word to describe in a recent press conference.
Kerr and his Dubs team are looking ahead to a Western Conference matchup against the Houston Rockets this Sunday and are preparing for their first-round series with the Ime Udoka-led side. But the former NBA sharpshooter is still finding time to protest.
The Warriors HC was vocal in his support for Kamala Harris heading into the 2024 elections and was pretty disappointed with the results.
“It’s crucial for all of our institutions to be able to handle their own business the way they want to, and they should not be shaken down and told what to teach — what to say — by our government. Way to go, way to stand up to the bully.”

He sent a strong message to Trump earlier this week as he showed up to a presser wearing a Harvard sweatshirt to let everyone know which side he’s on amid the President’s beef with the school.
Kerr referred to the President as a “bully” following Trump’s freezing of $2 billion in grants for the school because it refuses to limit activism on its grounds. He has also threatened to ban international students from attending the university.
“I believe in academic freedom. I believe it’s crucial for all of our institutions to be able to handle their own business the way they want to, and they should not be shaken down and told what to teach, what to say, by our government,” the coach remarked.
“That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard, but it’s kind of par for the course right now. This is me supporting Harvard. Way to go, way to stand up to the bully.”

Former Warriors Owner Takes A Shot At Steve Kerr Over His Recent Comments

Kerr’s comments have sparked controversy and prompted criticism from Chamath Palihapitiya, a former minority owner of the Warriors.
“Normally, when an executive at a company where I own equity speaks on topics beyond their knowledge and reveals themselves to be an idiot I usually just fire them or sell my equity,” Palihapitiya posted. “Fortunately, I already sold all my equity in the Warriors last year at the-then all time high so this isn’t my problem but the total ignorance of his comments still stands.”
Steve Kerr is a hapless rube.

He is blindly defending an institution that:
1) Is a Corporation with a $53B balance sheet masquerading as a non profit.
2) Has the absolute worst scores for freedom of speech amongst ALL colleges in America.
3) Was admonished and defeated by… https://t.co/1hTBWWNmYA
The head coach will hope that this does not become a distraction during the playoffs, especially as his team had to get there the hard way.
