Jimmy Butler might have been on the wrong side of the news so far. However, after his blockbuster trade to the Golden State Warriors, things are looking quite upbeat. At least that’s what Butler’s debut game for the Warriors suggests. Donning the Warriors’ colors for the first time, Butler dropped 25 points as he helped take his team over the line against the Chicago Bulls. Meanwhile, the 132-111 victory also inspired a Warriors athlete. And it is none other than Jonathan Kuminga.
Kuminga has been trying to make his mark for the Golden State Warriors this season. Unfortunately, despite his efforts, Kuminga has had quite a mediocre year. Averaging 16.8 points per game, the 22-year-old boasts 5.0 rebounds and 2.2 assists. However, after the inclusion of Butler into the squad, Kuminga seems to have found his blueprint to success.
According to a report from Anthony Slater, when he walked into the Warriors’ locker room, Kuminga seemed to be pretty much impressed with Jimmy Butler. As per Slater, the 22-year-old pointed at Butler and uttered, “I like that guy.”

Kuminga now has a veteran who is a direct example of how he should model his game, both offensively and defensively, in Jimmy Butler.
Surely, the young gun can now follow Butler’s offensive and defensive prowess to pace his own career. Well, speaking of Butler, the NBA icon looks quite relaxed at the moment. However, a few days back, he did take a subtle jab at his former team.
Jimmy Butler Takes A Subtle Jab At Miami Heat
Jimmy Butler’s relationship with the Miami Heat kept the NBA realm busy for a significant period recently. During the fallout, Butler publicly asked the Heat for a trade while being suspended thrice. While he had not made any public comments earlier, recently, Jimmy Butler took a subtle dig at his former team.
“The biggest part was just getting here to be able to play basketball. I just want to be able to go out there and do what I’ve been doing for a very long time — have fun, smile, and run, and not just feel like I’m doing cardio all game. I’m very, very happy I’m not getting suspended anymore,” Butler said via Anthony Slater.
