The Golden State Warriors’ hopes of returning to championship glory were once again cut short in this year’s playoffs. After making a major move by acquiring Jimmy Butler and teaming him up with Stephen Curry, the Warriors got success early on. However, their playoff run came to an abrupt end during the Western Conference semifinals. They fell to the Minnesota Timberwolves in a 4-1 series defeat.
With the season behind him, Jimmy Butler now finds himself with plenty of free time. The Warriors forward has chosen to spend his offseason vacationing in Italy. His trip caught attention after popular Colombian singer J Balvin posted a story on Instagram featuring Butler.
In the video clip, Balvin pulled a prank on Butler by placing a real snake inside a cardboard box. When Jimmy opened the box and saw the snake, he was visibly startled, shouting and falling out of his chair in shock. The moment quickly turned into laughter as everyone around burst out laughing at Butler’s dramatic reaction.

Despite the scare, Butler appeared to be in good spirits. In another Instagram story from Balvin, Butler was seen singing along with the singer. It seems that even after a tough playoff exit, the Warriors star is making the most of his time off and fully enjoying his vacation.
Steve Kerr Reveals Warriors Chose Jimmy Butler After Failed KD Trade Talks

During a recent appearance on The Tom Tolbert Show on Tuesday, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr shed light on the team’s decision-making process ahead of acquiring Jimmy Butler. Kerr confirmed that the franchise initially pursued a trade for former Warriors star Kevin Durant. But when discussions with the Phoenix Suns fell apart, the team quickly pivoted to another All-Star.

“I think it’s well documented that we were trying to get Kevin Durant, but that didn’t happen. And after that, Mike calls me and says ‘I think we’re going to trade for Jimmy Butler, I’m going to vouch for him. Guy’s a gamer, hell of a player, and I think that’s gonna work.’ And I said, ‘Great, let’s do it,’” Kerr said.
That confidence quickly paid off. In his first season with Golden State, Butler delivered a solid all-around performance. He averaged 17.9 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 5.9 assists per game during the regular season.
