After all, the Grizzlies had a long search before Morant ended their point guard woes back in 2019. However, in a recent revelation, Howard Beck from ‘The Ringer’ stated that a possible Ja Morant trade might be on the horizon. Beck opined that he had interacted with an NBA executive to reach this conclusion.
“I’m constantly checking in with executives around trade deadline about like, okay, what we saw, what we didn’t see, what’s next, and in this league, you are always, always, always on the lookout for who’s the next wave of stars that are going to get dealt, right?” Beck said. He further added, “And somebody out of the blue said, keep an eye on Ja [Morant] this summer.”

The decision to trade Ja Morant might be a shocker for the fans. As in the four seasons that he had played with the Grizzlies, the franchise has made it to the playoffs on three occasions. Meanwhile, sporting a ‘reckless’ playing style, Morant has Charles Barkley concerned.
Charles Barkley Concerned Over Ja Morant Getting Hurt
Ja Morant has been electrifying on the court for the Memphis Grizzlies. Delivering some incredible performances, Morant has been one of the most entertaining players in the league. However, with it, the risk of him getting injured escalates. Speaking on the same lines, Charles Barkley referred to his playing style as ‘reckless.’ Voicing concerns over his health, Barkley asked Morant to be a little cautious.
“My only concern with him is he’s a little too reckless for me. He can’t be running at them big bodies like that, because he’s gonna get hurt. Big bodies gonna hurt little bodies. He’s got to quit trying to dunk on people, because little bodies are always going to get hurt by big bodies,” Barkley said.
