
Police have a 17-year-old in custody following the shooting death of college basketball player Jamarion Brown.
Brown was reportedly shot in the head at a pool party in Camp County, Texas, last Friday and succumbed to his injuries at hospital. He played basketball for Henderson State University and was heading into his second season with the program.

“It is with deep sadness that Henderson State Athletics mourns the death of junior men’s basketball student-athlete Jamarion Brown,” the school said in a statement. “‘Jo’ spent just one season in Arkadelphia, but his impact on our campus was profound.”
Bond Reportedly Set For Teenager Arrested For The Murder Of College Basketball Star Jamarion Brown

According to KBTX 3, a 17-year-old was arrested in connection with the murder.
The teenager, Onterrian Jamour Newton, has since been charged with Brown’s killing, while he is also facing charges over non-life-threatening injuries sustained by two other people at the party.

One was shot in the hip and the other in the leg.
Reports claim bond has been set at $1.2 million, with $1 million attached to the murder charge and $100,000 for each of the other injuries.
Newton could face life in prison if found guilty.
