While professional wrestling in big companies such as the WWE and the AEW may be a little scripted, the college game isn’t. That was evidenced after wrestler Lucas Byrd was crowned the NCAA 133-lb champion.
Byrd left no doubt that not only was he the best wrestler on his squad at the University of Illinois, but he was also the best college wrestler in the United States at his weight class, which is quite an incredible feat.
While wrestling doesn’t always get the attention it deserves, Byrd is going viral after his reaction to winning the 133-lb weight class. He isn’t just going viral for his performance, though, as his girlfriend is the main reason.
Following the win, Byrd embraced his coach to congratulate him. Then, ESPN showed fans a glimpse of his girlfriend, who is nearly a foot taller than the 5’5 “wrestler. Ellie Holzman stands at a whopping 6’3.
