Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning wants to set the message straight: He’s not going anywhere.
With a plethora of big-named quarterbacks switching schools via the transfer portal since December, some have wondered if Arch Manning may also look for a new home ahead of the 2025 season.
But while speaking to reporters in Austin, the highly-touted quarterback emphasized that he’s staying with the Longhorns, per Grace Raynor of The Athletic:
“It was tough. I mean, it’s tough in this age. But I hope it pays off. There’s nowhere else I want to be. I want to be at Texas. I’ve got friends here; I love this place. So I want to be the quarterback at the University of Texas. Sometimes it’s worth the wait.”
After finishing his high school education at Isidore Newman School in New Orleans, Manning took his football talents to the University of Texas. He spent his first two seasons backing up Quinn Ewers in Steve Sarkisian’s offense, but the group now belongs to Manning with Ewers declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft.
Arch Manning is the son of Cooper Manning and the grandson of former NFL quarterback Archie Manning. Archie’s two youngest sons, Peyton and Eli Manning, were first-overall picks who went to win on two Super Bowls apiece in their playing careers.

Cooper Manning was a promising wide receiver prospect who committed to Ole Miss, where Eli played college. Unfortunately, Cooper had to retire before beginning his tenure with the Rebels because of spinal stenosis.
But if Arch lives up to sky-high expectations in Texas, he’ll eventually extend the Manning NFL family to three generations. He’s already one of the way-too-early favorites to be the first quarterback taken in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Arch started two games in place of an injured Ewers last season. In 10 total game appearances, he completed 67.8 percent of pass attempts for 939 yards, nine touchdowns and two interceptions.
