Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson have released a statement amid ongoing backlash about the former’s awkward interview with Tony Dokoupil.
In case you missed it, Bill Belichick sat down for an interview with Tony Dokoupil on the CBS “Sunday Morning” program to promote his new book, The Art of Winning: Lessons from My Life in Football.
The televised interview quickly became intense, however, when Jordon Hudson shut down Dokoupil’s question about how Belichick met his girlfriend, informing him that they wouldn’t discuss the topic:

Hudson broke her silence with an Instagram post of a screenshot of an email Belichick sent back on April 10. Belichick expressed concern that the media was focusing negatively on him acknowledging his “mistakes” in the book with over 260 pages and not “how I did my job on the way up.”
Interestingly, Hudson’s Instagram caption reads, “Full statement to be released later today.”

It was also reported by TMZ that Hudson became “so heated” during the interview that she walked out and hoped for Bill Belichick to follow. TMZ also reported that Dokoupil was “spooked” by her reaction, and that Hudson’s actions caused the interview to be delayed by 30 minutes.
Belichick’s relationship with Hudson has drawn widespread controversy because of their 49-year age gap. Belichick turned 73 on Apr. 16, and Hudson recently celebrated her 24th birthday.

Belichick and Hudson met on a flight from Boston to the Florida area in February 2021, with the former even signing her textbook. The two kept in touch and became a couple at some point in 2023, after Belichick broke up with longtime girlfriend Linda Holliday.
The legendary head coach kept his personal life private during his tenure with the New England Patriots, but he’s now active on social media, where Hudson posts aplenty about their relationship.
