Prayers are needed in the worst way after news came down that a college basketball player disappeared in a Boise river.
21-year-old LSU Eunice player Everette Jackson got lost in the Payette River after a tubing accident on Saturday involving his girlfriend, according to WDSU.com.
Jackson’s girlfriend said he lost control and despite her efforts to save him, he was swept away by the strong current.
“The Payette River is currently flowing at a rate that presents a danger to anyone not using a motorized craft,” the Gem County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
The sheriff’s department has been out searching for 21-year-old Everette Jackson for days.
“When it’s your family member, no one is going to look for him, like you would look for him,” his niece Breon Lyons said.
His family said ‘to know him was to love him’ and described him as the sweetest person and one of life’s biggest blessings.
“It hits different when it’s your family member,” his sister Kenya Lyons said.
