
Wilmington College in Ohio canceled all classes on Monday after sophomore football player Tony Crane tragically died.
Crane, a member of both the college football team and the Delta Theta Sigma (DTS) Fraternity, died early Saturday morning in an off-campus incident. Authorities found him with a fatal gunshot wound at the DTS Fraternity House just after midnight.
The Wilmington Police Department arrived at the scene around 12:43 a.m. and confirmed Crane’s death. Officers recovered a firearm and assured the public that no ongoing threat existed. The investigation remains active.

Sigrid Solomon, Wilmington College’s vice president for student affairs and dean of students, delivered the devastating news in a statement to the community. “It is with a heavy heart that I share the news of the passing of one of our own, Tony Crane,” Solomon said. “Counseling and Campus Ministry Services are available to students. The Wilmington Police Department continues investigating and reports no danger to community members.”
