According to USA Today, the CU head coach is dealing with an “unspecified health issue.”
Coach Prime is at his estate in Texas while the school’s summer football camp is underway, and there’s no word on when he’s expected to return. His son, Deion Sanders Jr., was on a live stream on YouTube from their home in TX on Sunday. He said his father would inform everyone of his illness when he was ready.
“He’ll tell y’all soon enough what he’s going through, what he went through,” he said. “When we get back to Boulder, I don’t know. I’m waiting until my dad leaves. When he leaves, then I’ll go. Until then, I’m going to sit here with him.”
Deion Jr. also said the coach was “feeling well.”

The 57-year-old has had his struggles with health issues. He had two toes on his left foot amputated because of blood clots in 2022 and missed Pac-12 media day the following year because of a procedure to relieve blood clots in both of his legs.
He mentioned another health issue during a podcast with Asante Samuel last month, but did not go into detail.
