Sports fans on social media are praying for the family of Kyren Lacy following news of his death.
Lacy, 24, is reported to have taken his own life ahead of a grand jury hearing following an arrest earlier this year.
The former LSU wide receiver was facing serious charges after allegedly causing the death of a former U.S. Marine and injuring two other people in a hit-and-run accident in Louisiana. His family confirmed he passed away in Houston on Saturday night after claims of suicide surfaced on social media this Sunday morning.
“This makes my heart sad, Bless him & his family 🙏🏻, Suicide is NEVER the answer,” someone tweeted following the news.

Kyren Lacy Was A Projected First-Round Pick At One Point

Kyren Lacy declared for the NFL draft two days after the hit-and-run incident and was considered to be a potential first-round pick after leading LSU in touchdowns scored last season with nine, having registered 58 receptions and 866 yards.
Our hearts go out to his family and loved ones amid these terrible circumstances.
May he rest in peace.
