Hailey Van Lith, a two-time First-Team All-ACC selection as a member of the Louisville Cardinals, announced last month she would be transferring to the defending national champion LSU Tigers for the 2023-24 season.
Van Lith entered the transfer portal at the end of the women’s college basketball season, but she is graduating from Louisville in May, earning her degree in finance in three years. She has two more years of eligibility left because of the COVID year.
She also made a decision about her NIL deals that have people talking this week.
Van Lith confirmed to Pete Nakos of On3 that she will keep her NIL deal with Adidas while she is playing for a school that has a Nike deal as she’ll wear a swoosh during team activities but promote Adidas on social media.
Those are two rival companies.
Van Lith currently makes over $500K from NIL Deals alone.
She averaged a career-high 19.7 points per game during the 2022-23 season. She averaged 4.5 rebounds and 3.2 assists. She scored a total of 1,553 points in the three years.
Even after losing players like Alexis Morris and LaDazhia Williams, LSU’s women’s basketball team was still expected to be nationally competitive once again in 2023-24.
The team is now the betting favorite to repeat as national champions next year.
In the latest odds from FanDuel, the Tigers have overtaken UConn and have the best championship odds at +450.
Van Lith’s addition to a roster that already includes Angel Reese and Flau’Jae Johnson.
Kim Mulkey has solidified herself as one of the game’s all-time coaches with her fourth title this past season. With their newest addition, they could be creating a dynasty.WANT MORE FROM TOTALPROSPORTS? FOLLOW US ON GOOGLE NEWS.
