Karmelo Anthony once had thousands, if not millions, of supporters from around the country.
That has changed considerably.
The Karmelo Anthony Help Fund has become one of the most-discussed fundraising campaigns in recent memory.
The family of the Texas teen has been at the center of national media in recent weeks after the 17-year-old allegedly stabbed another boy to death at a track meet in Frisco on April 2. Since the incident, Anthony’s family has raised more than $515,000 on the crowdsourcing platform GiveSendGo.
The campaign has not yet reached its $600,000 goal, but it appears the family is in need of more money.
Many online reports state that Anthony’s parents blew through half a million dollars and are allegedly asking for more money. His supporters are not only unhappy, some of them are demanding to have their money back.

Social Media Reacts To Karmelo Anthony’s Situation

“They chipped in money to a black murderer solely because he murdered a white guy. I’m glad they got scammed. They deserve it,” one person said.

“I mean, let’s be honest. That money would’ve been wasted on lawyers. Karmelo Anthony is going to prison. Doesn’t matter if he’s got a public defender or OJ’s Dream Team. Probably better to buy a house and an Escalade,” a second person added.

“After Anthony is convicted, Metcalf’s family attorney can attach liens on all the property and money they have grifted just like OJ,” a final person commented.
