EA College Football 26 sparked controversy as fans questioned Deion Sanders and Bill Belichick’s absence from the deluxe cover.
There was a reason for that.
The 2026 promotional poster for EA Sports’ NCAA College Football video game dropped, and neither the Colorado nor North Carolina head coaches were on it.
It’s a sharp contrast from last year when EA Sports made Colorado coach Deion Sanders’ Buffaloes the face of their long-awaited reboot. In 2025, Colorado’s high-flying two-way star cornerback/wide receiver Travis Hunter was front and center.
Bill Belichick signed on with the Tar Heels and has been in the news for everything other than football.
Not only are neither of them on the cover, but neither Sanders nor Belichick is in the actual game.

Deion Sanders And Bill Belichick Seemingly Headed In Opposite Directions

With a new-look Colorado roster and the 2025 season approaching, Coach Prime likely has a daunting future ahead of him.
Sanders and Colorado will open the 2025 football season with at least four nationally televised games, making the Buffaloes one of the most visible programs in college football. Since Sanders arrived three years ago, the Buffaloes have become one of the biggest ratings draws.
The country cannot wait to see what the program will do now that Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter are in the NFL.
Bill Belichick’s first season as the head coach of North Carolina’s football team in 2025 will see the Tar Heels open their season against TCU on September 1st. Unlike Deion, not much is expected of the Super Bowl-winning coach, as there is no pressure to win right away with the Tar Heels.
With all the issues surrounding his relationship, Belichick likely cannot wait to get on the sidelines.
