Former Duke University football player Brandon Braxton might never see the light of day again.

The former Duke University football player has allegedly confessed to the killing of real estate agent Whitney Hurd as investigators had questioned him for months over the murder.

He was charged with first-degree felony murder and felony robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Braxton reportedly confessed to first-degree murder in connection with the July 2024 death of a North Carolina real estate agent, according to TMZ.

The 33-year-old Braxton was said to be refused entry into Braxton’s home when she found him “asleep on her driveway.”

Hurd would even go as far as to call the police on him after he “broke into her home.”

Detectives found out from witnesses that they saw a man, allegedly Brandon Braxton, driving Hurd’s car away from her home on July 4.

Hurd was reported missing on July 11. A private investigator later discovered her body inside her South Park townhome three days later.

Fast forward to this week, and Brandon Braxton now has a mug shot released following his crime.

Brandon Braxton’s Career With The Duke Blue Devils And Life Afterward

33-year-old Brandon Braxton was a star receiver and safety at Duke between 2010-13.

His life has taken quite a change.

He has allegedly confessed to killing his former high school friend and Charlotte, North Carolina, real estate agent Whitney Hurd. Braxton and Hurd were old high school friends from Providence High in Charlotte, NC.

Braxton caught 93 passes for 893 yards and three touchdowns while also contributing 51 tackles on defense in 43 career games for the Blue Devils.

After graduating in 2014, Braxton reportedly began stalking Hurd, appearing outside her home.

It eventually led to him allegedly killing her.
