College football fans will be treated to some mouthwatering rivalry games on Black Friday, with two intriguing matchups making the schedule.
While NFL fans are just getting used to watching football on the day after Thanksgiving, college football fans have been hip to the trend for a while now, and they will have some great options again this year.
The NFL hasn’t announced its schedule, so there’s no word on the Black Friday matchup yet. That’s less than can be said for the NCAA, as, according to Ralph D. Russo of The Athletic, two huge SEC games will air after Turkey Day.
State Rivals To Square Off For Black Friday College Football

Russo notes that the Egg Bowl, featuring Ole Miss and Mississippi State, and the Lone Star Showdown, A.K.A. Texas vs. Texas A&M, are set to take place on Black Friday.
The Bulldogs will host the Egg Bowl at their Davis Wade Stadium in Starkville, while the Lone Star Showdown will take place at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.
“Black Friday for both the Egg Bowl and Texas-Texas A&M, the schools announce. Ole Miss at Mississippi State, noon ET. Texas A&M at Texas, 7:30 p.m. ET,” Russo tweeted.

A few years ago, Black Friday was known chiefly for shopping, but the NFL’s arrival is changing that, with the college game having paved the way. There were over a dozen games to watch during the last one, including fixtures between Iowa and Nebraska and Georgia and Georgia Tech.
It appears more people will be staying home instead of chasing sales, but there’s always the option of shopping online. So why not take advantage of both?
