Ohio State is about to get exposed in an upcoming documentary detailing the wild sex scandal involving Dr. Richard Strauss.
HBO announced plans to release a documentary about the scandal earlier this year, marking the end of a four-year project. And they’ve now announced a release date, with the show, ‘Surviving Ohio State,’ set to premiere on June 17 at 9:00 p.m. on HBO and HBO Max.
HBO also released a trailer on Thursday for the Tribeca Film Festival.
You can check it out right below:
“SURVIVING OHIO STATE tells the story of the male victims of Dr. Richard Strauss, a sports medicine physician and serial sex abuser employed by The Ohio State University (OSU) from 1978 to 1998,” the synopsis reads.

Strause is said to have molested well over 2,000 victims during his time at OSU.
The university settled with 162 sexual abuse survivors five years ago, forking out over $40 million, but there are still several lawsuits that remain ongoing.
If the trailer is anything to go by, the upcoming show could attract plenty of attention around the country once it drops in less than two weeks. OSU boasts one of the most prominent athletics departments in the United States, and its football program just won the national title.
George Clooney’s Smokehouse Pictures initially announced the project in 2021. Production started the following year under Clooney, Grant Heslov, and sports journalist Jon Wertheim. It’s directed by Emmy-winning producer Eva Orner.
As for Strauss, he passed away in 2005.
