Gymnast Olivia Dunne did the splits during the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit runway show on Saturday and went insanely viral as a result.
Dunne revealed the inspiration behind the viral moment when she decided to drop the splits during a runway show over the weekend.
The former LSU Tigers gymnast made her debut with Sports Illustrated Swimsuit in 2023 and was one of four women who covered this year’s editions, joining Lauren Chan, Salma Hayek, and Jordan Chiles.
Dunne was clearly enjoying herself at the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit runway show, and she made sure she would steal the show.
Wearing a black and white spotted bikini accented with red bows, the national championship winner confidently strutted across the stage, showing off her athletic physique. The moment of the day came when Dunne walked to the edge of the runway and dropped an impressive split onto the ground.
Taking to social media after the show, Olivia Dunne revealed the reason behind her decision: “I got triple dog dared,” she said.

Olivia Dunne Was Dealing with An Injury During Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Shoot
Olivia “Livvy” Dunne may have left the gymnastics mat, but she carries the injuries from being in the sport with her.
The former LSU gymnastics star recently made waves not just for landing the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit but for the grit it took to get there.
Livvy Dunne released a behind-the-scenes Instagram reel that gave fans a rare peek into her Bermuda shoot for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit.
“Fun fact, I was shooting on a fractured kneecap, so poses like this and the cover shot kind of hurt, but it was honestly so worth it,” Dunne revealed.
Nothing was going to stop her from posing with the publication.
