Christina Day, the wife of Ohio State Buckeyes football head coach Ryan Day, put a rest to a random and long-standing rumor about her husband.
2025 has been a special year for the Day family. In January, Ryan coached the Buckeyes to their first national championship since 2014. The victory over Notre Dame also silenced the many critics of Day, who called for the school to fire him after coming up short in so many big games.
OutKick founder Clay Travis recently went on a rant about how men who trust their beards aren’t “trustworthy.” Travis then stated that Ryan Day’s approval rating would skyrocket if he didn’t dye his beard.
Travis’ comments about the Ohio State head coach prompted Mrs. Day to respond on X/Twitter. Christine Day wrote that Day has never dyed his beard and called for folks to “Move on to the next narrative.”
I have known Ryan my entire life and he has never once died his beard. Move on to the next narrative. https://t.co/Sc0hUmxMlm

Well, there you have it. Apparently, Ryan Day’s black beard is all-natural. Move along with your lives, folks.
Day took over as head coach of the Buckeyes after Urban Meyer retired in 2018. The latter retired for health reasons after seven seasons at Ohio State, leading them to a national championship victory in 2014.

The 46-year-old Day was the Buckeyes’ co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for two seasons before succeeding Meyer. He spent the 2015 and 2016 seasons as the QBs coach of the Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers, respectively.
Ryan Day Just Signed A Seven-Year Extension With Buckeyes

Not only did Day silence the critics by leading the Buckeyes to a national championship, but the school quickly moved to extend him after the triumph in January.
Day received a lucrative seven-year contract extension worth $87.5 million that keeps him signed through 2031. If that’s not enough to end calls for the Buckeyes to make a coaching change down the stretch, nothing will.
