Social media was stunned to learn how much Amir Khan makes as the McNeese men’s basketball team manager.
The McNeese Cowboys emerged as the early feel-good Cinderella story of this year’s March Madness tournament when they upset the Clemson Tigers 69-67 in the opening round. But the short but sweet run ended on Saturday with a 76-62 loss to the Purdue Boilermakers today.
McNeese was also popular because of Amir Khan, who made sick pre-game introductions in a yellow jumpsuit and boombox with the Buffalo Wild Wings logo at the front. Seriously, how do you not love this?

This isn’t just a thing McNeese does for fun, either. According to Matt Norlander of CBS Sports, Amir Khan has 12 NIL (name, likeness, image) deals that are “well into the six figures.”
Norlander notes that TickPick, TurboTax and Buffalo Wild Wings are his biggest NIL deals.

I’m told he has 12 NIL deals, all totaling well into the six figures. Buffalo Wild Wings, TickPick and TurboTax are the three biggest. Nothing like March. pic.twitter.com/Jl0DctW6K1

“This is honestly so damn cool for this kid. He had the personality to see the opportunity and run with it. I hope McNeese makes a run so he can keep it going,” one fan wrote.

Amir Khan Wraps Up Second Season As McNeese’s Manager

Per the McNeese athletics website, Khan has been the Cowboys’ manager since the 2023-24 season. Khan’s bio at the site also includes a hilarious quote that reads, “If they kept manager stats for rebounding and wiping up wet spots on the court, I’d put up Wilt Chamberlain numbers.”
McNeese needed just two March Madness games to become a giant social media sensation, with booming NIL deals in his pocket. We already can’t wait to see him at next year’s March Madness tournament, assuming McNeese qualifies.
