Jordon Hudson, the widely despised girlfriend of Bill Belichick, placed third over the weekend at a beauty pageant in Maine.
The Miss Maine pageant garnered significant attention as it welcomed its first transgender contestant.
Bill Belichick’s 24-year-old girlfriend competed against trans model Isabelle St. Cyr. The model became the first openly trans competitor in the event’s history after being crowned the winner of Miss Monson, the pageant in her Maine town.
Hudson having to face off against a transgender individual comes with Donald Trump’s administration locked in a legal battle as his administration sued Maine for not complying with the government’s push to ban transgender athletes in girls’ and women’s sports.
A transgender being in the competition did not faze Jordon Hudson at all. In fact, the two of them apparently bonded.
One day after the pageant, St. Cyr spoke to PEOPLE about how she and Jordon bonded over the fact that they both get backlash from the internet.
“We had a conversation backstage, and we were like, ‘You know, the media hasn’t necessarily been kind to us.’ We just kind of talked about how we’ve dealt with it, how to move forward, how to remain positive, and when to comment and not to comment,” St. Cyr tells PEOPLE.

“I really appreciate her willingness to talk to me about the media coverage.”
St. Cyr noted that they hadn’t interacted before the pageant, but she says there was an “unspoken” question of how she and Hudson would address the headlines.
“First trans woman versus Jordon Hudson, all those articles,” St. Cyr recalls as some headlines stated.
St. Cyr added that “there was no bad blood” before the preliminary competition.
“It definitely made us both a lot more comfortable going into the pageant that night,” says St. Cyr. “I think we both wanted to make it clear that we had nothing to do with it and that we were just happy to be competing. So I was very thankful for that.”
