Vice President and proud Ohio State alum JD Vance had an embarrassing moment on Monday.
President Donald Trump hosted the Buckeyes after they won the College Football Playoff National Championship against the University of Notre Dame in January.
Vance fumbled The Ohio State University football team’s national championship trophy during a Monday celebration at the White House.
At the conclusion of the White House’s South Lawn ceremony, Vance began to lift the trophy awarded to Ohio State for winning the 2024 College Football Playoff National Championship Game.
Unfortunately for JD Vance, the base of the 35-pound trophy broke off as he held it up with help from star Ohio State running back TreVeyon Henderson.
He made fun of the situation online:
“I didn’t want anyone after Ohio State to get the trophy so I decided to break it,” Vance wrote.

JD Vance Was In The Military Before He Headed To Ohio State

Vice President JD Vance committed a fumble during Ohio State’s Monday visit to the White House.
Vance joined the Buckeyes on stage Monday alongside President Donald Trump at the White House as they celebrated OSU’s national championship from the 2024 season.
As Vance picked up the trophy by its base, Henderson held on to the body, which then split apart.
He has come a long way to get to this point.
Vance says he started at OSU in September 2007, and he graduated with his bachelor’s degree in August 2009.
After high school, JD Vance did not go straight to college. He went to the United States Marine Corps, where he served as a military journalist from 2003 to 2007.
He was also deployed to the Iraq War for six months.
Vance graduated from Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree in 2009 and Yale Law School with a law degree in 2013.
