At long last, billionaire Warren Buffett finally gets to pay out a lucky fan who hit the jackpot in their March Madness bracket.
For the past decade, the chair and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway has offered a $1 million prize annually to anyone who correctly predicted each team in the Sweet Sixteen on their men’s March Madness basketball bracket.
But with no victors, Buffett decided to change the format and make it easier for someone to win. This year, Buffett offered the grand prize to anyone who correctly predicted 30 of the 32 first-round matchups.
According to a report from Daniel Roberts of Front Office Sports, Buffet’s 2025 bracket challenge has at least one winner, possibly more. Their fortunes were sealed when Oregon defeated Liberty on Friday.

Buffett adjusted the rules this year—correctly predict at least 30 of the first 32 games—and the pool has a winner or multiple winners, FOS has learned.
So there you have it. Somebody finally won Buffett’s March Madness challenge thanks to his willingness to make the format easier this year. And with an estimated net worth of $163 billion, perhaps Mr. Buffett will jack up the grand prize next year.
There hasn’t been a single authentic and confirmed March Madness bracket in history. So somebody will have to follow the footsteps of Biff Tannen in Back to the Future Part II by time traveling and grabbing a sports Almanac to get the correct results.
